Illuminating Hearts at VBS by Grace Kwon

Recently, Sunday school had our yearly VBS (Vacation Bible School). So many children attended, some who attend different churches, or some who don’t go to church at all! The theme was illumination station, emphasizing that Jesus is the light of the world. We focused a lot on who Jesus is, and what He did when he was on this earth. The kids were very attentive and curious to know more! All 3 days were very precious and brought joy, not just to the children but the helpers and teachers as well. Many mothers came to cook and serve for VBS and the food was so delicious. There were so many good things that happened!

On the last day, we had a very fun time of water games! Prior to water games, the weather was not looking good, with thunderstorms and rain pouring. There were worries that water games might be cancelled because of the weather. Everyone gathered together and we prayed with faith as we asked God to help us. Amazingly, God so graciously flipped the weather around completely and it was amazing how beautiful and sunny it was outside. God’s grace truly covered these days and ended up being a blessing to many.

최근에 교회 학교(주일 학교)에서 여름성경학교(VBS)를 진행했습니다. 다른 교회에 다니는 아이들부터 교회를 전혀 다니지 않는 아이들까지, 정말 많은 어린이가 왔습니다! 이번 여름성경학교의 주제는 ‘일루미네이션 스테이션(Illumination Station)’으로, 예수님이 세상의 빛이심을 강조하는 시간이었습니다. 저희는 예수님이 누구이신지, 그리고 이 땅에 계실 때 어떤 일을 하셨는지에 대해 깊이 알아 보았습니다. 아이들은 더 많은 것을 알고 싶어 하며 매우 집중하고 호기심 어린 눈빛을 반짝였습니다! 3일의 모든 시간이 너무나 소중했고, 아이들뿐만 아니라 도움을 주신 봉사자들과 선생님들에게도 큰 기쁨을 가져다주었습니다. 많은 어머님들 오셔서 여름성경학교를 위해 음식을 요리하고 섬겨 주셨는데, 음식도 정말 맛있었습니다. 참 좋고 은혜로운 일들이 가득한 시간이었습니다!

마지막 날에는 정말 즐거운 물놀이(워터 게임) 시간을 가졌습니다! 물놀이를 하기 전에는 비가 쏟아져 날씨가 흐렸습니다. 날씨 때문에 물놀이가 취소될지도 모른다는 걱정도 있었습니다. 하지만 모두가 함께 모여 하나님께서 도우시기를 믿음으로 간절히 기도했습니다. 놀랍게도, 하나님께서는 크신 은혜로 날씨를 완전히 바꾸어 주셨고, 바깥 날씨는 믿기지 않을 정도로 맑고 화창해졌습니다. 하나님의 은혜가 진정 이 모든 날들을 덮어 주셨고, 결국 많은 이들에게 큰 축복이 된 시간이었습니다.

Fun, Faith, and Food: The Amazing Grace of VBS! by Ella Jun

VBS was amazing! I loved how they combined both fun and learning about God! The food was amazing too. Through VBS, God touched peoples’ souls, helped strengthen beliefs, and so much more!

이번 여름성경학교(VBS)는 정말 최고였어요! 신나는 놀이도 하고 하나님에 대해서도 배울 수 있어서 정말 좋았어요. 그리고 음식도 진짜 맛있었어요! 하나님께서는 이번 VBS를 통해서 우리 친구들의 마음을 따뜻하게 만져 주셨고, 예수님을 믿는 믿음도 훨씬 더 튼튼하게 만들어 주셨어요. 이것 말고도 정말 좋은 일들이 가득했어요!
